The Gale River Motel has been recognized by TripAdvisor.com, the world’s premiere travel site, as a “Silver Level GreenLeader” for our environmentally-friendly efforts. Worldwide, about a thousand lodging and dining properties have been recognized by TripAdvisor.com and the Gale River Motel is the only Franconia lodging property to have achieved this recognition to date.
Around the motel, the big project for this season has been the re-painting of the entire motel, cottages and innkeeper residence. The paint job looks great and combined with a re-painting of the relaxing Adirondack chairs on the front porch of the motel, thinks are looking pretty spiffy for the start of the season.
A new unit has come on line – the property next door to the motel was purchased a couple of years ago and the long-term tenant that had occupied the property at the time it was purchased has moved to a residence in Sugar Hill that she has purchased. After extensive renovations, this “Guest House” will be available for rent. This property will not actually be a part of the motel property, but rented out separately by Kevin as a “For Rent by Owner” – but inquiries can certainly be directed to Kevin through the motel’s web site. The Guest House has two floors, a full kitchen, living room and two baths (upstairs and downstairs). The upstairs has a private three-room suite which sleeps up to seven and the downstairs has a two private rooms with a shared bath that sleeps three adults. The downstairs bath has an antique claw-foot tub that is great for relaxing in after a long day of activities. Guests will have access to all of the amenities of the Gale River Motel.
